Like Brian Wilson’s Elbow, Beards In The Summer Are DONE

No matter what Brian Wilson wants you to believe, summer is no time for a beard or a moustache. Is there a worse feeling than being stuck outside (working, gardening, drinking) in 98 degree heat being pelted by the merciless rays of the sun?

It’s amplified tenfold if you’re all bearded/goateed up because it absorbs all the sweat from your head and just SITS there. Beards are great for winter, especially if you think scarves are for girls/hipsters, and moustaches work in the fall. But in the summer, less is more. How else can you feel the soothing caress of your special lady’s hand on your face if it’s covered by facial hair? You can’t, so clean it up!

Trade A Rooster For A Haircut

Talk about an awesome way to introduce your new business to the community. If you’re in Farmington Hills, MI on April 9th or 10th stop by Roosters Men’s Grooming Center and trade a rooster item (ie ceramic, picture, etc) for a free haircut and scalp massage($29).

“I see about 10 or 15 percent of people passing by who said they thought it was a chicken place,” says owner Amir Shahnazary. Amir said customers can keep the rooster they bring into the shop.

Roosters Men’s Grooming Center is located at 37619 W. Twelve Mile Road in Farmington Hills.

Dandruff- Not Just For Dudes

As men, we hear all the time all the things we do wrong. We’re pigs, all we think about is sex and we have no idea how to groom ourselves. But hold on ladies- you aren’t exactly batting 1.000 either. According to a recent survey by askmen.com,  dandruff ranked as the number one concern amongst men and the women they “deal” with.

One third of the 2,000 men surveyed said that their old lady’s dandruff had caused some discomfort in their relationship. Additionally, more than 50 percent of men would rather clean the bathroom for a month than tell their girlfriend or wife that she has dandruff.

Some pretty “heady” stuff, ladies. Next time you need a break from being perfect or telling us how to live, go wash your hair.

Jose Reyes New Look

In order to comply with the Florida Marlins “clean cut” policy, new acquisition Jose Reyes shaved off his trademark dreadlocks. “It’s going to be a little bit emotional because I spent three years with this hair. But at the same time, I understand this rule of my new team. I’m a team player, so I have to cut it off.”

In an effort to raise money for charity, Reyes put his hair on Ebay, and amazingly, people bid for it. The hair sold for $6,112 dollars.

Do You Have “Hair Like Clay?”

Is there any NFL player with better hair than Packers LB Clay Mathews? The 2010 NFL Defensive Player of the Year knows a thing or to about attacking NFL QB’s, but he knows even more (if you can imagine that) about men’s hair care!

Suave and Clay Mathews have teamed up to launch the “Hair Like Clay” Promotion. From now until February 15th, fans have the opportunity to show off their best hair style mimicking Clay’s – either using their real hair or sporting a Clay-like wig – by posting their photo to @SuaveMen on Twitter and including the hashtag #hairlikeclay. The winner will get to spend an ENTIRE day hanging out with Clay!
