You can sit there and whine about your puny physique all you want, but no one wants to hear about it until you’re willing to do something about it. The fact is, the sports you participate in could lead your towards the build you’re looking for.

Fitness should be a year-round goal

Are you one of the many who focuses on fitness in January after the holidays or in May as pool season is approaching?

Try breaking that pattern this year, and use the fall season to get started on a year-round program.

Think about starting some new exercises. If you haven’t been doing weight training, then maybe this is a good time to start.

Also, if you’re going to try a new approach on working out, then take a look at protein powder and creatine supplements. These are important supplements if you’re serious about building muscle, but keep in mind that overall nutrition and eating habits are equally important. These items should supplement your diet. Do your research and consult your doctor or a nutritionist, but things like whey protein can be great tools in your fitness program.

Also, thing about what your goals are – building muscle, getting ripped, losing that belly? Every person should come up with their own goals, but the key is doing something! Don’t settle into bad habits as usual during this time of year.

Bullz-Eye’s Mike Furci talks cardiovascular disease

Brushing your teeth.Bullz-Eye’s fitness expert Mike Furci put together an article recently that covers a lot of popular health and fitness rumors and myths. Some are true, some aren’t, and Mike uses the latest research to discuss these fitness trends over on Bullz-Eye.com.

Here’s just one of his ‘Did You Know’ sections:

Did you know inflammation, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and brushing your teeth are all related? A study of 11,869 men and women mirrors previous research and finds a link between gum disease and cardiovascular disease. Participants were asked how often they visited the dentist and how often they brushed their teeth. 62% of the participants reported regular (at least every six months) visits to a dentist and 71% reported good oral hygiene (brushing teeth twice a day). There were 555 CVD events over an 8.1 year average follow-up, which resulted in 170 deaths. 74% of the CVD reported was coronary heart disease. Participants who reported less frequent tooth brushing had a 70% increased risk of a CVD event compared with participants who brushed their teeth twice a day.
