BarberShopBlog Interviews Dikembe Mutombo About Blocking Shawn Kemp, Ex-Wives and Old Spice Champion Scent

According to Mayan prophecy, the world is set to expire on December 21, 2012. With only 4 1/2 weeks (and counting) to the end of the world, Old Spice has recruited arguably the best defender of all-time – NBA legend and global ambassador Dikembe Mutombo – to save the planet from its impending peril!

In a new digital campaign launched last week promoting its Champion scent, “Dikembe Mutombo’s 4 1/2 Weeks to Save the World” is a real-time, embeddable digital video game.

Bullz-Eye: Tell us about the game. According to the site you have 4 1/2 weeks to save the world before the end of the Mayan calendar, correct?

Dikembe Mutombo: I team up with Old Spice to promote the computer game and we have to save the world in 4 1/2 weeks. Also to promote Champion scent from Old Spice. It’s a wonderful game for everybody to play.

Bullz-Eye: The concept is you’re going to defeat your rivals and save the world. Is there any way you could save everyone on Earth except for my ex-wife?

DM: (Laughing) We have to save the entire world. We’re going to save the world because the Mayan calendar says it will end in four and a half weeks. And we’re going to do our best to stay alive.

Braun Series 7- A Gift That Keeps On Giving

Seventy nine percent of males still use holiday gifts they received in the past (seven years ago) according to a new survey from Braun, a leader in German engineering and high quality design since 1950. Looking for holiday shopping/grooming insight for upcoming articles?

The Braun holiday survey also revealed:

·         Most (51 percent) men surveyed shave five to seven times per week

·         Fifty-eight percent of men have received an electric shaver as a gift in the past

·         Most (34 percent) men expect an electric shaver to last only three to four years

  • Sixty-seven percent of respondents believe a smooth shave is likely to be the most popular facial hair style seven years from now, followed by the moustache (16 percent), goatee (16) and mutton chops (1 percent)

·         Seventy-two percent of consumers are shopping for two to five men this holiday season

  • Forty-three percent of respondents believe their father is the hardest male to shop for during the holidays, followed by friends (30 percent), brothers (19 percent) and grandfathers (8 percent)

To address the need for longer lasting gifts for males this holiday season, Braun offers Series 7. While most shavers last only a few years, Braun Series 7 is engineered to last seven, with dedicated teams of engineers and scientists putting Series 7 through more than 50 quality tests to simulate a five minute shave, seven days a week, for seven years. At the touch of a button, Braun’s Clean & Renewä innovation cleans, charges, lubricates and dries the shaver to maintain optimal cutting performance, while its features, including the Personalization Modes and OptiFoil™, help men to achieve Braun’s closest shave ever.

Don’t Have A Mustache? Get A Transplant

Sometimes, I lose faith in the internet. The endless dating sites, “Make $5,000 a week from home” schemes and of course “Get Ripped Abs In Five Minutes” pop-ups can really get a guy down.

But every once in a while, my faith is restored. Check out this headline and ensuing article- “Mustache transplants on the rise in the Middle East.”

Of all the places on earth, who would think there would be a market for this over there? Doesn’t every guy (and most women) over their have fantastic facial hair?

How emasculating if you didn’t, hence the need.

Today We Remember The Hair Stylings Of Anthony Mason

The legend of New York Knick Anthony Mason’s array of hair cuts must never die. Hair graphics have grown in popularity over the last few years, but in terms of the NBA “Mase” set a trend that has been replicated ever since. Players like Daniel Gibson and Andray Blatche have tried to mimic Mason, but nothing is better than the original.

Sadly, when researching images for this article, it appears many people have already forgotten how cool Mason was, as there are very few pics of his various haircuts and sayings carved into his head.

Do the future a solid and tell a child about Anthony Mason’s legacy today. If you don’t, the only thing we may have left comes from the Beastie Boys classic “B-Boys Makin’ With The Freak Freak”.

“Got my hair cut correct like Anthony Mason.”

WORD.
