Bullz-Eye reviews the 2011 Ford Fusion

Ford Fusion 2011 review.

Bullz-Eye has been hitting the road often lately, testing out the new automobiles for the 2011 year. The past week, a staff member had a chance to drive the 2011 Ford Fusion SE I4. The Fusion has given a lot of life back to the Ford brand, and though there wasn’t a major redesign this year, Tom still thinks the car offers enough to make it a good buy for most any driver.

Here’s an excerpt from his review:

From the initial launch of Fusion, performance has been a big selling point for this car. We drove the 2.5-liter I4 engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. The overall fuel economy rating is 22 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. We averaged around 24 mpg in mixed driving. The gearbox was smooth and user friendly with a clutch that was fluid and shifted with ease from 1st to 6th gear. The 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS felt solid and secure when braking in the December snow. The front-wheel drive with traction control was more than capable of dealing with wintery conditions. The handling on the Fusion SE is top notch for a midsize sedan that starts at just $19,720, but I felt the 2.5-liter I4 lacked power. Don’t expect any more pop than what a 175-horsepower engine should deliver. The overall ride and handling of the 2011 Ford Fusion SE compensate for lack of power in the 2.5-liter manual transmission. If you like to feel more power behind the wheel, consider the 6-cylinder options.

Bullz-Eye hits the 2011 NAIAS

Bullz-Eye at the 2011 NAIAS

There is no bigger show in the auto industry than the North American International Auto Show, a show Bullz-Eye got to attend this year, courtesy of Chrysler. The highlight of the show was definitely the unveiling of the Chrysler 300C, but as one of our staff learned, Chrysler had quite a bit to show off. Just a couple years ago, the world doubted Chrysler could ever make a comeback, but under Fiat’s oversight, the brand is poised to take charge of the large-car market.

He wrote about his experience over at Bullz-Eye.com. Here’s a snippet of what he had to say:

Chrysler came out swinging with the all new 2011 Chrysler 300 and made a statement: not only is Chrysler coming back but Chrysler intends to lead the charge in the large car segment. Some of the features in the Chrysler 300 that stand out to us are the new ultra-rigid structural design, E-segment architecture with redesigned front- and rear-suspension geometry delivering world-class handling, an innovative AWD system that seamlessly transitions between rear-wheel drive (RWD) and AWD with no driver intervention, world class quality, and “State-of-the-art Connectivity with Segment’s Largest Touchscreen Infotainment Center.” I had a chance to meet CEO Sergio Marchionne on January 10, which was the first day of the show, and he appeared to be focused, a sense of determination that was shared by the other Chrysler and Fiat representatives who were available at the show. Chrysler truly needed a partner like Fiat and a CEO like Marchionne, both of which are all-in when it comes to the future success of this American icon!

Bullz-Eye reviews new headphones from Denon

Denon headphones.

Now that the holidays have passed, a lot of us are finally setting in to our new tech toys. Whether it’s an iPad or a new iPod, a smart phone or a new laptop, this is the time people start to figure out what their new toy can do, and how exactly to get the most out of it.

For any audio device, you’re going to want a new pair of headphones. Bullz-Eye recently reviewed the latest headphone offerings from Denon and came away pretty impressed. Denon isn’t always the first name to mind when you think of quality headphones, but the earbuds and over-the-ear phones both produced great sound. Here’s an excerpt from the review:

I was impressed with both units. Naturally, the expectations on sound quality were higher for the over-ear headphones and the AH-D510R delivered excellent sound quality, particularly when you consider the $99.99 retail price. The AH-D510R features Denon’s Acoustic Optimizer system, which provides equal ambient air pressure on both sides of the diaphragm for naturally balanced sound. In addition, the earpieces feature Denon’s exclusive Hybrid Metal Housing technology, which combines machined aluminum alloy with resonance-free resin. It matched up well with a much higher-priced set of headphones I use regularly. The headphones are large as you might expect and they don’t come with a travel case, so using them for travel might be a little difficult.

Bullz-Eye reviews the 2011 Dodge Challenger

2011 Dodge Challenger

The guys over at Bullz-Eye recently had a chance to test drive the all new 2011 Dodge Challenger. The Challenger is one of the most iconic models on the road today, and after you see the Bullz-Eye gallery and read Gerardo’s review, you’ll know why.

Here’s an excerpt from the Bullz-Eye review:

While I’ve been a big fan of the new design, I didn’t truly appreciate the new Challenger until I was invited to drive the SRT8 392 in San Francisco. The car is simply amazing. I drove the automatic version and it was a joy to drive – I didn’t miss the manual at all. No matter what speed you are traveling at, the car does exactly what you want it to do whenever you touch the gas pedal and it responds with a muscular roar. The car is a torque monster – the 392 Hemi is rated at 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The entry level version of the Challenger has received an upgrade as well, replacing the 250-horsepower V-6 for Chrysler’s new Pentastar V-6 with 305 horsepower.

The handling was also very impressive considering this Challenger is the largest and heaviest of the classic American rear-wheel-drive sport coupes. I drove the vehicle through the winding roads of Highway 1 outside of San Francisco along with some straightway stretches and some city driving, and I had a smile on my face the entire time. I love the power and the feel of the car – it’s everything you would hope for in a muscle car. Reports suggest the 2011 version offers a significant upgrade over previous models, which I didn’t drive.
